I’m sorry for being slack about my blog posts lately. So much hectic events of life and development of my energy practices have been given priority. It’s interesting how this topic relates to the Ego as mine has been hindering my development through fear, lack of communication and just trying to worry me about things which aren’t inherently real.

To begin, I want to describe what the Ego is. The Ego is the part of our being which is associated completely with the physical world. The ego says we are the product of our life experience. So if something bad was done to us as a child, it gives us an excuse to act that way towards others.

An Ego is a place of blame.

The Ego does not want to take responsibility for its actions, it thrives on the blaming and degrading of others. It says we are better than everyone. The Ego wants us to worry about the past and the future. The Ego has needs that cannot be met, it wants more.


The Ego is the little voice in our head that tells us negative things. When we are trying to raise our consciousness or vibration through various spiritual practices, the Ego is the part of ourselves that gets in the way. The Ego does not like to not have control over every aspect of our being. The Ego will actively try and degrade us from what we are doing so we go back to listening to what it says.

The key to all this is to realise, we are not our Ego. Our soul, consciousness, energy body whatever word you would like to call what we are, is not our Ego. We are divine by nature. We are kind, we are loving, as we grow up through external circumstances were are told that we are not divine. We are not special, just one in 7 billion humans. Living out our mundane physical lives. We are told to buy the latest phone, have the fancy car, be wealthy and we will be so happy. This is the biggest lie we have been told our entire lives.

See this is the power the Ego tries to have over us. ‘We don’t have enough, I need this, it’s this person fault, etc.”. It wants us to try and fill and need that cannot be filled. The key to being happy – comes from not listening to our Ego and living from our heart and out of love.

Well, Dylan, that sounds like a wonderful time. But how the hell do I stop this voice from telling me I am not enough?

The key comes from meditation and coming to the realisation that we are not our Egos. When most people try and meditate, thoughts from the Ego keep popping into their head and they’re like “AH THIS ISN’T WORKING! WHY CAN’T I CLEAR MY MIND?!? See we cannot control our thoughts, you cannot force the Ego to stop doing what it’s doing because the Ego dislikes not having control.

This is how you do it. The Ego is a toddler in your brain. If you try and tell it no guess what? Just like a toddler, it is going to throw a tantrum and try to get your attention. So how do we fix this? Treat your Ego like a toddler and ignore it. Better yet, laugh at it. Recognise whenever you have a thought about the past or future it is simply your Ego. See the Ego doesn’t have any power over our soul in the present moment. This is why in all spiritual practices we are taught to live in the moment.

So when you begin to meditate this is the trick. Sit in a comfortable position, breathe in through your nose and fill your belly with air. As you exhale, release all tensions of the day and watch them be carried away as they leave your body, Focus on your breath. When a thought pops into your mind, this is the Ego trying to control you. So here is a very simple exercise for you to ‘minimize the Ego’. When a thought comes in do not try to control it, simply sit and observe it in a non-judgemental form and let the thought pass. Just keep your focus on your breathing and let anything that pops up go. Tell you Ego, thank you for bringing this to my attention Ego and I will deal with this later. Imagine your mind is a blank computer screen. As your Ego pops up on this screen with a thought, simply say thank you to your Ego and minimize the screen.

It is okay if it pops up a lot, in time as you ignore the toddler – it will quieten down. The trick is patience.

Being in Sync with those around us

Is there just sometimes where no one seems to ‘get you’? Everyone is against you and no one wants to listen to or understand your ideas?


There is a scientific explanation behind why this happens and it is related to vibration. Vibration and frequency make up the world. Imagine this: You have 3 glasses each filled up with different amounts of water. When you tap each glass with a spoon, it creates a different sound. This is called the natural frequency of the object.


Every single inanimate object has a natural frequency which describes the rate at which the object is vibrating on a subatomic level.


If a simple glass can have a natural frequency, doesn’t it make sense that human beings also have a natural frequency?


As we know, music can make us feel incredible emotions from complete and utter joy to a depressing sadness. The reason music can make us feel this way is because our thoughts and feelings can all be represented by frequency. Music plays that frequency which is why we feel particular emotions. The emotional map can be seen below and describes everyone who has ever been alive’s natural frequencies.

Each level can be described by frequency, the higher our frequency, the happier we feel while on the other hand we hate our lives the lower our frequency goes. .

Coming back to the human body, we all have a natural frequency in which our energy bodies are operating at. Like in a music piece, when you have a harmony, it sounds beautiful. However, if the tune is not in harmony, the music sounds horrible.


The human body works the same way. If your natural frequency is not in line with someone else’s, you aren’t going to get along with them. It is that simple. When we are in harmony with someone, we like them.


When we are vibrating at the same frequency as someone, we are more than often in love or have a very special and intimate connection.


The thing to realise is, when we are not in sync with someone, it doesn’t mean they are better or worse than us. It simply means we are at a different vibrational level than them. Once we begin to let go of our ego (Our judgements of others and reality) we begin to realise there is so much more.


Simply associate with those who are at the same or higher frequency as yourself. They will bring you up with them. If you want to achieve love and happiness, don’t hang around people who aren’t that. Or guess what? Nothing will change.


Never stop striving to raise your vibration higher and higher because ultimately, that’s what life’s all about.

Isn’t it funny how things work out sometimes? One second we are doing something we love and then another amazing experience will pop out of it. Funny little coincidences, little surprises, things just going right – these are called miracles.


Miracles are something we just can’t explain, they happen when we least expect it and we are very grateful for them arriving. They can be as small as a inspiring conversation with someone to the positive outcome of a situation you were sure this was the end.


The universe has a funny way of humbling us before it’s greatness. The secret to everything is, when you think a thought – that is what will come back to you. That simple.


I want to share a story about my experiences with miracles. I have been hungry to develop my skills as a Reiki practitioner and to become a Reiki Master. I want to have 5 paying clients a week. So what I do, whenever I am in the car is repeat to myself – “I am a Reiki Master, I have 5 paying clients a week”. I do this over and over again, especially on longer drives. This weekend, I had the pleasure of watching my old singing teacher perform a one woman show. The place it was held, which I did not know until after I booked my ticket, is a spiritual centre of healing. That is a miracle in itself. The universe brought me to such a wonderful and inspiring place because that is what I desire. It is through this place, I feel it inside me, I will learn and expand my consciousness. I had amazing conversations with people who understand consciousness and that brings me great joy. I have found a place to learn.


When we want something, we must picture it in our mind’s eye 110%. We must repeat it to ourselves whenever we have free time, we can repeat it in the car, in the shower, while we go for a run. Make it something simple but specific in your outcome. Put a deadline on it. For example “I have $1000 in my bank account by Friday”. You can’t say “I will have more money” because the universe might deliver you $1 and you might think it hasn’t worked. But the universe answered your call. You have $1 more.


If you want miracles to happen in your life, you have to be specific in what you want. You have to be specific and you also have to want it so badly that you will do anything to get it. You have to be hungry. Be hungry and do not worry about the how. Focus on your reason for wanting something and the miracles will follow.


The universe will give you whatever you desire, there is no limit on what you ask for, only what you believe to be possible. The universe will rearrange itself to suit your needs for whatever you ask. All it takes is you giving your energy towards an idea. The bigger the want, the more energy and the more time it is going to take.


We need to be grateful for everything in our lives, from our many blessings to the things that shit us off. We need to also be grateful for the things that piss us off simply because all they are doing is helping us learn our flaws so we can raise our consciousness to the next level.

Are there just things that you really hate? Is there something that riles you up so much you start shouting at whoever says the thing that is wrong?

That my friends,is called a trigger. We all have triggers depending on our backgrounds. How and where we were raised,what we have been exposed to etc. Everyone has at least one trigger. I’ll share with you a story about one of mine. Today I was in the car,driving to an appointment which I was running late for and I get to the place – my gps has taken me the wrong way. I start yelling and screaming, getting frustrated with myself. No one is immune to them, how we respond to our triggers, is what makes us different.

I could have chosen to keep being frustrated with my life, that I was late and focused on how much of a bad job I had done. Or, I could’ve chosen to focus my intentions on forgiveness for making a mistake, calm down and breathe deeply and just come back to the present moment.

I chose the latter and here is why.

I honestly think that quote is very powerful in the sense that, our triggers are just us projecting them onto the world to happen so we can heal the traumas associated with them. We all have childhood traumas, issues that we have with our parents, our siblings, authority, males, females the list is endless.

When we encounter a trigger, the trick is not to give into the temptation to yell and scream. Don’t let your ego control yourself. You are more than your ego. Your ego is the part of yourself that is associated with this physical body. It reminds you about the past and will try and make you worry about the future.

When we find ourselves triggers, here’s what I do and would recommend you give it a try. 

  1. Recognise you have gotten triggered
  2. Take a deep breath in and out
  3. Recognise that in this moment, everything is perfect and the way it should be
  4. Forgive the person or event that has triggered you by recognising it only happened because you projected it onto the world
  5. Forgive yourself for getting triggered by being kind to yourself
  6. Think about the deep underlying issue which caused you to get triggered
  7. Congratulate yourself on healing and growing as a person


When we stop being in a reactive mindset and we take responsibility that we are creating our own lives by the thoughts we have, miracles begin to happen. Miracles of self growth, happiness and abundance all seem to fall into our lives because we take responsibility and want to grow as a person. Recognising we are not perfect and forgiving ourselves for that. We are perfect in this moment and we keep continue on our life journey of growth. Never stop moving forward and always focus on the reason for your dream.

Getting out of your comfort zone

I have had the recent lucky oppourtuniy to do a facebook live for the first time ever.

Wow it was a pretty scary experience being there and trying to act calm and pretend like you know what you’re doing. But alas, if we want to achieve great things in life, it involves change. I am just starting to tap into my potential and finally put myself out there. The big problem most of us face is that we care about other peoples opinions of ourselves.

Why do we give the people who we most of the time don’t even like, the power of what we do?

All this does is stop us from achieving greatness. When we want to achieve great things, it involves us saying no to same old thing. Whether we watch TV all night or go out and party all the time, what is it we actually want to do?

I guarentee those things which you want to do make you feel uncomfortable, or you would’ve done them already 😉

When we delay and procrastinate, we are blocking the Law of Attraction from helping us achieve our goals. I have written a whole post about the Law of Attraction which you can find here:

To put it simply, when we focus our intention of something, whether we percive that as good or bad doesn’t matter. It comes true given enough energy. An awesome example of how I used the Law of Attraction yesterday was like this: My essential oils diffuser had stopped working in the last few days and this made me sad because well, I love aromatherapy. When I was about 40 minutes away from home in the car I started repeating

“My diffuser will work when I get home”

for the next 40 minutes non stop. I visualised it working and what it would smell like. When I got home, I rushed to my diffuser to turn it on and it didn’t. I turned away in shame knowing I had failed. I turned back around and it was working again, I was estatic.

Even something so simple my thoughts were able to rearrange reality to my desires. If this is possible on a small scale, imagine what we can accomplish on a large scale. You can use it to manifest anything in your life, just turn off your music or radio while you drive, ride or walk and afirm your desires. Over and over again and they will come true. Visulaise and say that is has already happened and change your whole reality.

After we get past that point, we get drawn to things we have to do to achieve what we have been thinking about. To me, I want to manifest an extra $1000 every single week. So today and now everyday I will say in the car.

“I am making an extra $1000 dollars per week ontop of my current salary”

Simply do the same and you can have anything you desire, what it involves is taking action and getting out of the patterns you are in.

To quote Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon:

“Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way”

Break the cycle and step into the unknown, we have to do it if we want anything in life.

What makes life worth living?

Why are we here? What is the purpose of life? The answer is in the question; To fulfill YOUR purpose in life. We are all beautiful beings of light capable of making the most gorgeous artwork to a best selling movie. Whether your passion is to write or to sing or to dance. All that matters in life is for you to follow the thing that brings you utmost joy in your life.

You’ll know the thing what I’m talking about when it happens, whether you have experienced it and it’s on the backburner for you while you focus on a job which doesn’t make you happy or you are just searching for it. Know that it is there waiting for you to take hold of and run.
Human beings are creators. We not only create our own lives for whatever we want, but through us following our dreams, our passions and our desires. We inspire other people to follow theirs. All it takes is one moment to change everything, to get out of the habit we have found ourselves in for years. Working the same job, doing the same boring activity, going to the same place for a holiday every year and living for the weekend. That isn’t living. That is shit.

We are bombarded by messages to buy the latest smartphone, or this new car will make us the happiest person alive, but it is just shit.

Shit is meaningless, it comes and goes. The real thing you want and have to be hungry for is your passion. When you start putting your time and energy into your passion and you overcome the fear of “What is this person going to think of me?”. Fuck them. The only person’s opinion that matters is your own, people are allowed to have their own opinion of us but does that define who we think we are? NO.

Don’t ever let what someone thinks of you make you feel shit about yourself or stop you from achieving your dreams. If we want success in our lives we need to surround ourselves with people who want us to succeed. Do you think people are your friends if they constantly put you down and get enjoyment out of you being less than them because they are not achieving anything in their lives?

Break the cycle and rip off the bandaid. You can’t change the situation that you are put in but you can change about how you think about your circumstance. By changing your thoughts, this changes your feelings which changes how you act which leads you to positive results. All that you have to do is to change your mindset about how you think about things.

Believe your dreams are possible and work towards them and they will come true. There will be setbacks along the way, but those setbacks help you learn. Don’t ever settle for who you think you are, you are more. You are great and you are divine. You create your own reality by the thoughts that you choose to think about. Change how you think and the rest will follow along.
