We are so rushed in our day to day life. We are always focused on problems to be solved, worries about the past or fears of the future. See, the goal of all spiritual practices is to reach enlightenment. Where we are free of negative thoughts and emotions. Where we can exist in stillness.

We are trying to solve the mind through the mind. If I mediate this much, I will reach it. If I pray this much I will reach it. See the thing to realise is, they are only signposts pointing the way. The whole thing they are trying to teach you is to be present in the moment.

Breathing is a very easy way to do this. Pause now and watch your breath. Watch how it goes into your abdomen and expands and then releases. Try this for a bit. Notice when you start to think about something else. Then bring yourself back to the breath. This is the point.

Learn to remain conscious in the present moment. Appreciate the trees, the sounds, our emotions and the situation we are in right now. Nothing exists except right now.
